RX Disposal Boxes

The locations listed below have permanent disposal boxes available in their lobby’s for citizens of Wayne County to dispose of unwanted/outdated prescription medications. The disposal boxes are inside the buildings and not all locations are accessible 24/7.

To ensure your privacy please feel free to remove or black-out your prescription information. Please DO NOT place any hazardous materials, needles, business waste, or bio hazardous materials in the disposal boxes. Common acceptable items include: prescription medications, over-the-counter medications, medication samples, medications for pets, vitamins, inhalers, medicated ointments/lotions, liquid medicine, etc.

All materials are transported by sworn Agents from the disposal boxes to a secure location where they are packaged for destruction. All materials are destroyed following EPA guidelines and regulations.
